Current loop signals often can transmit over circuits that serial signals can’t
traverse reliably, due to distance, marginal conductors and electrical noise.
Model 232CLDR interfaces RS-232 to the most common current loop ports,
20mA with open circuit voltages up to 30 V. Contact B&B Technical Support
for information on higher loop currents and voltages. Maximum baud rate for
current loop converters is 19.2 kbps.
The transmit loop and receive loop each can be operated as active or
passive. All connections are made on terminal blocks. A single power
supply (not included) between 10 and 30 VDC can power the
converter and both current loops.
- Wide voltage range (10-30 VDC)
- Both current loops powered by a single power supply
- Optical isolation protects devices from transients
- Maximum baud rate is 19.2 kbps
- DIN Rail mount
- Free current loop application note booklet available from B&B
