Single-Strand Ethernet Media Converters

Are you faced with a single operating fiber cable and the need to duplex over it? This pair of Ethernet media converters can be the answer. A converter on each end of the fiber takes the Ethernet signal from copper to fiber and from fiber back to copper, but with each end transmitting single-mode on a slightly different frequency. The opposite end receives only on that frequency. So the two signals pass both ways at once through the single strand without interference. The fiber converters offer the RFI/EMI resistance and 12.4 miles (20 km) range of fiber. Proper communication requires purchase of a pair of these units — one Model ADAM-6542/W13 and one Model ADAM-6542/W15. Power can come from any unregulated source from 10 to 30 VDC. Power supply not included.

Model ADAM-6541 is an industrial grade converter, designed to transparently convert copper Ethernet signals into fiber optic signals. This provides wide bandwidth, surge and spike protection, and long-distance transmission capability. The unit auto-detects transmission speed. Both the copper and fiber ports have memory buffers. It operates on 10 to 30 VDC. Flexible mounting via DIN rail or panel, or it can piggy-back on other ADAM modules.
